The next section out of Te Kuiti had a reputation of being difficult and often flooded. Sam, Talulah and Riorden decided to hitch. Justin and I started in the rain but that cleared up mostly in the afternoon. It turned out to be a very enjoyable and varied section. Mostly along the Mangaokewa river and a mix of forest trail, challenging goat track and meadow. We found a random table and chairs in the middle of nowhere when we stopped for lunch. We met up with Sam, Talulah and Riorden at the 900km mark and camped in a basic trail angel campsite near Mangaokewa North Road end.
