A new experience for me. At day 40, it was the first time I've planned to hike the whole day with others as opposed to randomly meeting others on the trail. The day started out overcast but soon we were in heavy rain. Sam had the idea of decorating a Christmas tree with our hiking poles which was fun. By late afternoon we had had enough of the heavy rain and cut out a pointless loop, going instead nervously through someone's farm and driveway. Were very glad to get to trail angel Sue's place.
