Walking the length of New Zealand to raise awareness and funding for disability care and carers.
Hi and welcome to my blog! I'm walking the 3,000km length of New Zealand from Cape Reinga to Bluff on the Te Araroa Trail mainly as a personal journey and to explore my relationship with nature.
Along the way I hope to raise awareness and funding for disability care and carers. Creating greater connection and understanding between disabled and non-disabled people.
I’m raising funds for the KaraHands Charitable Trust to replace their 20 year old disability van. KaraHands is a charity that offers friendship, a caring environment and family support for families with disabled family members. Please consider a donation no matter how small via Givealittle.
This purpose is part of my acknowledging how disability has played a major part in my life while caring for a disabled family member and how wilderness and being in nature have helped me in very difficult times. Along the way, I hope to raise awareness for those real-life angels in our midst, who humbly dedicate their lives to caring for others.
I'm starting at Cape Reinga on November 5th and will be posting updates, thoughts from the trail and my progress on this blog. I'll also be doing a podcast and adding videos to my YouTube channel,
Hope you will join me on my adventure.
