The trail today was a mixture of busy narrow shoulder state highway walking, wetlands, flood bank, forest and farmland walking. A kind of random string of bits that happen to connect. The road walking on the SH1 and SH2 was particularly unpleasant. But the hike over Mt William made it all worth while. Thunder rumbled constantly overhead on the mountain top with the occasional flash of lightning. All broody skies and dramatic lighting. Reached Bombay just in time for the Intercity bus back to Manakau City and then to Katie and Nick's place where I would stay for Christmas and New Year.
