Spend an easy day in Kaitaia at the Loredo motel. My intention was to plan the two weeks after Kerikeri and do my blog but didn’t make much progress on either front. Did a wash and another shop. Back to the Pak n Save that I had supplied from a week before. It felt surrreal being back there. But I was more sure about what worked this time food wise on the trail. Peter and Lisa were also at the same motel, along with Peter’s wife who had come up from Auckland. The next morning we arranged to skip the first 6km busy SH1 section by car as Peter’s wife was driving that way back home. Still had a little food left.
