Took a rest day at Waitomo with a plan to do a glowworm cave tour. Was picked up at the campsite in the morning to go to Spellbound Glowworm and Cave Tours, a 20-minute drive from Waitomo. I took the chance that I'd get a lift back to Waitomo with someone doing a tour. The tour was magical and very enjoyable. I tagged on to a group from the US on a National Geographic 10-day tour of NZ. However, nobody was going back to Waitomo so I waited in the tour office. With no prospect of a lift, Peter the owner graciously offered me his EV to drive back and he would pick it up later. I'd never driven an EV so he got me to drive around the parking area . When I got back, I had a nice time chatting with Justin, Sam, Talulah and Riorden and asked if I could join them on the following day's hike to Te Kuiti.
