A lot of TAs skip Auckland for various reasons. Am glad I didn’t as I really enjoyed the changing aspects of trail as it winds its way south. I started at son Ben’s flat with a view of the Sky Tower. I took my time and savoured the Domain winter gardens and the various parks I wandered through. Walked for a bit with a guy called Stu and ended up by the estuary west of Mangere. Daughter Katie came and rescued me off the trail.
